Privacy Policy

The short version

We're a tiny independent audio studio. We only collect what we need to deliver your stories, process your order, and send the occasional update. We don't sell your data. Children don't create accounts here — parents do.

Who we are

This site is operated by Little Ears Audio (also trading as "Little Ears Audio"), the seller of the audio stories and printables offered here. Little Ears Audio is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice — meaning we decide what is collected and why. You can reach us any time at hello@littleearsaudio.com.

What we collect

• Account info: name and email when you create an account, plus login credentials.
• Order info: billing details are collected and processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record; we receive your name, email, order contents, country, and a payment confirmation (including the last 4 digits of your card).
• Personalization input: the child's first name, age, gender, and favorite themes you provide for personalized stories. Used only to write and render that audio file.
• Support messages: emails you send us and our replies.
• Usage and device data: basic analytics (pages visited, device type, approximate location, IP address) so we can improve the site and keep it secure.

How we use it, and our legal basis

• Fulfilling your order and delivering the audio and printables you bought, including download links and receipts — performance of our contract with you.
• Producing personalized stories from the details you submit — performance of our contract with you.
• Customer support and account changes — performance of our contract and our legitimate interests in helping customers.
• Security and fraud prevention, and keeping the site running — our legitimate interests.
• Improving our stories and site using aggregated, non-identifying usage — our legitimate interests.
• Occasional product updates — your consent, withdrawable any time via the unsubscribe link.
• Tax, accounting and legal records — compliance with legal obligations.

Children's privacy

Little Ears Audio is intended for parents and guardians. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you provide a child's first name for a personalized story, we use it solely to produce that file and don't link it to a profile.

Who we share with

Only the parties required to run the shop:

• Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record, who processes payments and subscriptions, handles billing, invoicing, sales-tax compliance, and returns for all our orders. Paddle handles your payment details under its own privacy notice.
• Service providers acting on our behalf: hosting and database, email delivery, audio and file hosting, and analytics.
• Professional advisers (accounting, legal) where needed.
• Authorities where we're legally required to disclose information.

We never sell personal information.

How long we keep it

Account and purchase records (including your download library) are kept while your account is active and for up to 7 years after your last order, so we can honor your downloads and meet tax and accounting obligations. Personalization inputs are kept for up to 12 months after the story is delivered, in case you need a remake. Support emails are kept for up to 24 months and analytics data for up to 26 months. After that, information is deleted or anonymised.

How we protect it

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures: encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest with our hosting provider, row-level access rules so you can only see your own orders and downloads, expiring signed links for audio and PDF downloads, restricted admin access on a need-to-know basis, and no storage of card numbers on our systems (payments are handled by Paddle). No system is perfectly secure, but we review these measures regularly.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of or objection to processing, a portable copy, and withdrawal of consent for marketing. Email hello@littleearsaudio.com and we'll respond within 30 days (within one month for UK/EEA requests). If you're in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
